Greetings! My name is David Mullen. My first introduction to Drones (sUAV’s) was in the summer of 2014 while working for an electrical utility company as electrical transmission inspector (voltages 345kv – 69kv). From 2014 to 2016 I purchased my first Phantom 4 and Mavic Pro. Both drones survived several mishaps over the years. Our company DronePix (created in 2016) has purchased eleven DJI drones over the last seven years to fulfil various missions. My training started with taking a three-day ground school training program with Dart Drones and several online training programs. Over the years I attended Advanced Drone Deploy Mapping and AUVSI Trusted Operator Program Level 1 and Level 2 at a Dart Drones training facility. Night flight training was difficult to find. When Sundance Media Group had a class opening in Virginia we made the trip to attend the training. I created three training programs for DronePix. Our three- and eight-hour ground school training program is unique because our students operated our drones. We did not want an individual to purchase a two-thousand-dollar drone and decided flying was too stressful. I also created an eight-hour training program to assist future pilots pass the 107-certification exam. My primary drone is the Mavic 2 Pro for most flight operations. The Phantom 4 Pro v.2. is my go-to drone for mapping. Our Inspire 2 is great for any project and has the best camera out of the three platforms.
