Supporting this burgeoning field, the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of uncrewed systems and robotics, plays a pivotal role. Representing professionals and corporations from over 60 countries in various sectors, AUVSI members contribute to the defense, civil, and commercial markets. AUVSI’s infamous 2014 Economic Impact of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration in the United States report estimated that drone technology would create more than 100,000 jobs and cultivate an economic impact of $82 billion between 2015 and 2025. 

The Empire State Chapter of AUVSI, in particular, is committed to empowering businesses and drone pilots within New York State, harnessing the business and lifesaving capabilities of this new era of transportation and flight. To this end, the Empire State AUVSI chapter frequently hosts guest speakers to educate and inspire its members and stakeholders.

Among these influential voices is Jon McBride, a renowned figure in the drone industry with over two decades of experience. From his early fascination with radio-controlled airplanes and helicopters, Jon has skillfully adapted his interests to meet the evolving needs of the drone market.

As a business owner and co-founder of Rocky Mountain Unmanned Systems (RMUS), a premier enterprise reseller, he has demonstrated the profound value drones offer in saving money, time, and lives. In 2022, Jon's expertise led him to a pivotal role as VP of Autel Robotics, where he was instrumental in developing a comprehensive training and certification program for Autel products. Currently serving as the Chairman for The Droning Company, Jon's diverse background, including five years in the USMC as an Electronic Technician and Marksmanship Instructor, adds a rich layer of experience to his leadership.
