Although, at press time, Ukrainian forces were not claiming responsibility for the action, drones attacked an arms depot approximately 240 miles from Moscow.

The resulting blast was so ferocious it could be seen from outer space, and it also caused a 2.8-magnitude earthquake. The alleged drone strike also forced thousands of people to evacuate.

Russia's state media did not initially report on the attack or the explosion—although independent reporters, military bloggers, and the governor of the Tver region where the incident took place claimed Ukrainian drones had been shot down in the area.
