About:
My interest in drones followed a vocational and personal pathway. My career was in manufacturing for 26 years. The most interesting job was with an aerospace manufacturing company working directly under the president of the company in production control. We manufactured parts for the government and military, space shuttle, anti-tank missile launchers/Javelin 148 FGM missile. As a production control, I was responsible for all procedures, inspections and oversaw the entire warehouse. I work well with others and quickly advanced within the manufacturing companies I worked with. After 26 years, I sought to make a career change utilizing my transferable skills. For Christmas, one year my mother bought me a drone knowing I enjoyed RC car racing as a hobby. This may be something I liked. I ended up a really fast learner and upgraded from a $60 drone with no camera to a DJI with a camera. I practiced taking videos and editing. The more I learned about the drone business, I decided get my remote pilot license in order to pursue drones as a career I attended the Dart Drone School in Orlando, studying and passing the FAA 107 exam. I now have experience doing aerial videos and have worked with a professional photographer that wanted to shoot videos on some of his jobs. I also have experience shooting videos for customers needing roof inspections to provide to insurance adjusters. I have furthered my education to include editing videos and photographs. In the last few years, I opened a company called Flying High with the purpose of selling drones and producing aerial videos and photography services. My company Flying High provides a number of services including inspections, videos and photography. I have a partner who is a Florida State Certified General Contractor specializing in marine and heavy construction, bridges and commercial buildings. He also is an FAA 107 pilot and is qualified as a small unmanned aerial system pilot for the Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol. The Civil Air Patrol uses drones for search and rescue work. I am located on the West coast of Florida near Anna Maria Island and have made some beautiful videos of the beaches, ocean and sunsets. After the last hurricane, I took photographs and videos of damage around that area. My goal is to further my drone business, producing high-quality aerial videos, photography in a safe, compliant and economical manner for the customer.
