Position Overview

The Apellix Drone Trainer & Customer Support position is a hands-on, customer-facing role responsible for training operators on Apellix cleaning and spray painting drones and answering operator questions. This individual ensures customers are confident, safe, and successful from day one, while also providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, and field service when needed.

This is a hybrid role blending training, customer support, and field operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Customer Training & Onboarding

  • Deliver in-person training on Apellix cleaning and painting. Training will be done at the Apellix headquarters or offsite.
  • Teach safe flight operations, best practices, and job execution (power wash, soft wash, coatings)
  • Guide customers through Apellix Intelligence™ features (Distance Hold, AirTrace™, etc.)
  • Ensure customers understand FAA Part 107 requirements and operational compliance
  • Create a best-in-class onboarding experience that drives customer confidence and success

Customer Support

  • Guide customers through setup, operation, and best practices to ensure safe and efficient drone use
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers via phone, email, and text - delivering fast, professional support
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and text in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide step-by-step guidance to resolve issues remotely
  • Document customer interactions and feedback to improve products and training materials. Document all customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in CRM systems to maintain clear service records
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues

Field Service & Repairs

  • Occasionally, travel to customer sites to perform on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in the field
  • Support high-priority customer needs to minimize downtime
  • Assist with drone setup, calibration, and performance optimization

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to relay customer feedback
  • Assist in developing training materials, SOPs, and knowledge based content like Apellix Academy
  • Support live demos, events, and customer site visits when needed

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • FAA 107 License
  • Experience flying drones (commercial or advanced recreational)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel (20–50%)
  • Ability to work independently in dynamic, field-based environments

Preferred:

  • Experience in pressure washing, coatings, industrial services, or construction
  • Background in technical training, field service, or customer success

  • Train operators in cleaning and/or painting Apellix drones
  • Help customers with responsive, quick answers to question
  • Work with shipping to send spare parts like batteries and props
  • Be on the front lines of semi autonomous drone adoption across industries
