An illegal fireworks warehouse is suspected as the cause of a massive fire in the San Juan de Miraflores neighborhood of Lima, Peru.
In addition to the flames—which had destroyed more than 40 homes by press time—fireworks were reported as exploding and illuminating the skies above the blaze.
Multiple units from Peru’s General Fire Department were involved in fighting the fire, which quickly engulfed a densely populated hillside. There were no intial reports of injuries or deaths.
Drones were on the scene to document the blaze.
