Fireworks may be hanging on as the "preferred fun" for celebrating the 4th of July each year, but drone light shows were also major events during the country's 250th birthday.
The versatiity and artistry of drones were certainly on display as they took to the skies to illustrate moments of America's birth and evolution. Some cities launched somewhat simple light shows, while other presentations were near cinematic in their scope.
We've selected five drone light shows from various cities and celebrations to show how drones offer an exciting, safe, and almost photographically visual alternative to fireworks. Some events combined drone and firework shows to really add some thrills to America's birthday.
