File this under "How Did We Miss This," but SiFly of Santa Clara, California, set a new Guinness World Record for the "longest flight of an electrically powered prototype multirotor drone in the 5kg–20kg category" on July 26, 2025.
On that date, the company's Q12 drone stayed aloft for 3 hours, 11 minutes, and 54 seconds at Amaral Ranches in California's Salinas Valley—a period that was officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

"Up until now, most drones have been used in visual line-of-sight applications, short distances, flying for 20 or 30 minutes," said SiFly Aviation founder and CEO Brian Hinman. "But now, with the introduction of Part 108 regulations, we have a framework for flying beyond visual line of sight.”
