WarrenUAS, one of the leading drone training programs in the country, will be featured at this year’s Commercial UAV Expo, offering insight about its growing academic program and research initiatives and building its network within the industry and other related fields where the use of drones is booming.
Attendees at the expo Sept. 2-4 in Las Vegas will have an opportunity to meet the WarrenUAS team in the Exhibition Hall at Booth #249, where members of the college’s staff will be sharing their expertise and answering questions about their cutting-edge program.
“Whether you’re an aspiring drone professional, an industry veteran looking to stay ahead of technological advancements, or someone curious about how drones are shaping industries like agriculture, construction, and logistics, WarrenUAS has something valuable to offer,” said Will Austin, president of the Warren County Community College where the program is located. Austin played a key role in the founding and development of the program.
WarrenUAS has grown to become one of the top programs for training drone pilots and engineers in the country, most recently focusing on precision agriculture and counter UAS, its newest offerings, which it is enhancing with added staff members and resources this year.
“We’re very proud to highlight the work we have done at Warren to grow our program and train students with state-of-the-art equipment and leading experts in the industry as faculty,” Austin said. “It’s great to have this opportunity to showcase WarrenUAS at this acclaimed event.”
Commercial UAV Expo brings together professionals, innovators, and thought leaders in Las Vegas to explore the latest advancements in commercial unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
About 4,000 attendees from 60 countries will have an opportunity to view some 225 exhibits. They’ll also hear from presenters on topics ranging from the details of photogrammetric mapping and Pix4D to a seminar on drone business operations “made easy” and discussion about “building a public safety UAS program”. One session is about “The best and most revealing uses of drone technology in 2025”.
“Each year, this event attracts the biggest players and most influential organizations in the industry,” said Peter Miller, chief pilot at WarrenUAS. “Whether you’re a drone operator, technology developer, or industry stakeholder, this conference provides an invaluable opportunity to stay ahead of trends, network with peers, and gain insights into the future of commercial UAS applications.”

Austin and Miller note that WarrenUAS staff attend each year to both highlight the offerings and accomplishments of their program but also get the latest information about new technology and techniques, the best thinking about drone usage and the most current information about regulations governing the industry.
Austin said that attendees should visit the WarrenUAS booth if they’re looking to deepen their understanding of commercial UAS technology or connect with leaders shaping the future of drones,
“WarrenUAS’s reputation is built on rigorous training standards, state-of-the-art equipment, and an unwavering commitment to preparing students for success in the rapidly evolving field of unmanned systems,” Austin said. “We are excited to share what we have learned and where we are headed.”
Austin said visitors to Booth #249 will have the chance to meet the experienced professionals behind WarrenUAS and learn about what sets this program apart.
“Whether you’re exploring educational opportunities in UAS, looking for cost effective training for your pilots and maintenance personnel, or looking to collaborate with industry-leading experts, stopping by their booth is a must,” said Austin. “WarrenUAS is not just another drone training program – it’s a comprehensive educational initiative designed to produce skilled professionals ready to tackle real-world challenges in unmanned systems.”
He noted that one of the key benefits of attending the Commercial UAV Expo is the opportunity to network with industry leaders – and the WarrenUAS booth is no exception.
“The program’s faculty and staff are not only educators but also active participants in the UAS industry” Austin said. “Their expertise spans multiple sectors, including photogrammetry, precision agriculture, and large drone operations. Engaging with them could lead to exciting collaborations and partnerships that drive your own projects forward.
He said if you’re considering a career in drones or expanding your knowledge base through formal education, speaking with WarrenUAS professionals can provide clarity on how their program aligns with your goals.
Miller highlighted these areas that are priorities at WarrenUAS:
Accredited and Certified Excellence
WarrenUAS is a licensed and fully accredited higher education institution specializing in unmanned systems education. The program is certified as an AUVSI TOP Level 3 Training Provider and an ASTM Certified Training Center, ensuring that its curriculum meets the highest industry standards. Additionally, WarrenUAS is a member of the FAA Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) program.
Rare FAA Exemption
WarrenUAS is one of only five entities in the country with a rare Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) exemption allowing them to fly and offer training on sophisticated unmanned aircraft systems weighing over 55 pounds. This exemption enables students to gain hands-on experience with advanced systems that are typically restricted. Additionally, they have been authorized by the FAA to fly BVLOS missions for years.
Comprehensive Training Programs
The program offers a two-year Associate Degree in Unmanned Systems with specialized concentrations in Photogrammetry, Precision Agriculture, and soon CounterUAS. For those looking for shorter-term certifications, WarrenUAS also provides one-year Certificates in Drone Pilot and Maintenance & Repair.
Hands-On Learning Opportunities
At WarrenUAS, students benefit from extensive hands-on learning experiences. The program features dedicated flight training centers, state-of-the-art laboratories, and real-world projects that prepare students for practical applications in their careers.
Expert Faculty
The instructors at WarrenUAS are highly trained professionals with certifications as remote pilots, extensive experience in unmanned aviation, and expertise in robotics engineering. Their guidance ensures that students receive top-tier education from industry leaders.
Career Development and Job Placement
One of WarrenUAS’s key strengths is its focus on career readiness. The program not only equips students with technical skills but also offers students advice on job placement and career development. Additionally, WarrenUAS operates a business incubator for drone companies, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among its students.
